2021 Ford Edge
If you're in the market for a stylish and practical midsize SUV, the updated 2021 Ford Edge stands apart from other vehicles in its class. The spacious Edge offers fun-to-drive handling and performance, along with a sophisticated and versatile cabin.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
For 2021, the Ford Edge is offered in well-appointed SE, SEL, ST-Line, and Titanium trim levels, along with the high-performance ST. With its dynamic front fascia, sleek and sporty profile, and distinctive rear end, the Edge has attention-grabbing styling.
With the SE, you get a bright grille, wiper-activated bi-LED headlamps, configurable LED daytime running lights, 18-inch aluminum wheels, body-colored rear spoiler and door handles, and LED taillights. The SEL adds an entry keypad, LED fog lights, and body-colored heated mirrors with approach lights.
Stepping up to the sporty ST-Line gets you unique badging and trim, LED signature lighting, 20-inch wheels, and a power tailgate. Titanium models offer 19-inch wheels, a hands-free tailgate, and stylish chrome accents. The performance-focused ST features unique front and rear fascias, a black mesh grille, 20-inch wheels, and dual trapezoidal integrated exhaust tips.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood of all but the ST trim is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It delivers 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels or the available all-wheel-drive (AWD) system via an eight-speed automatic transmission. AWD is standard on the ST, which is powered by a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 engine that develops 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a new seven-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The standard engine will give you up to 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg for highway driving, while the V-6 returns up to 19 and 26 mpg. The ST features high-performance suspension and tuning, and can take you from zero to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. When properly equipped, the Edge offers a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
Interior
In the SE's modern, driver-focused cabin, you'll find push-button start, cruise control, cloth upholstery, 60/40-split folding and reclining rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED interior lights, and two 12-volt power outlets.
All Edge models now feature the latest SYNC 4A infotainment system that includes FordPass Connect with a Wi-Fi hot spot. It also offers a 12-inch vertical touch screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, four USB ports, an audio input jack, and six-speaker audio with satellite radio.
The SEL offers simulated leather upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats, an EasyFold second row, a leather-bound steering wheel, dual 4.2-inch configurable multi-information displays, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The ST-Line adds remote start, unique interior trim, faux suede seat inserts, a wireless charging pad, and a 110-volt power outlet.
Adding a touch of luxury, the Titanium trim features leather upholstery, driver memory functions, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a 12-speaker B&O sound system. The ST's unique sport-oriented interior offers leather and faux suede seats with contrast stitching.
Safety Features
The Edge's standard Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver assistance technologies includes, a lane keeping system, blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, reverse parking sensors, and post-collision braking. Traction control and AdvanceTrac with roll stability control and curve control help to keep you on course.
