2021 Ford Ranger
Whether it's a rocky mountain trailhead or the morning highway commute, the 2021 Ford Ranger will get you there. In every trim level, Ford's midsize pickup truck offers excellent power and value, especially for those who customize. The Tremor off-road option is new for 2021, as is a Black appearance package with unique 18-inch wheels, grille, and emblems. Cyber Orange, Velocity Blue, Cactus Gray, and Carbonized Gray body colors are also new.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2021 Ford Ranger is available in either a four-seat SuperCab or five-seat SuperCrew body, as well as three trim levels, the XL, XLT, and Lariat. A 6-foot bed is standard on SuperCab Rangers, while a 5-foot bed and additional cabin room are standard on SuperCrew variants. The XL trim has 16-inch steel wheels, while the XLT trim has alloy wheels. LED headlights are standard on the top-tier Lariat model, but it's also worth choosing if you want side steps, extra recovery hooks, 0.8 inches more ground clearance, and 32-inch all-terrain tires.
Engine (Power)
For all models of the 2021 Ford Ranger, drivers get a 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, a perfectly balanced choice for those who do not need F-150 levels of power. A 10-speed automatic transmission allows drivers to take advantage of 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque with ease. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive optional.
Performance
Sufficiently equipped, some Ranger models can go from zero to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, while rear-wheel-drive models can get up to 21/26 city/highway mpg. The Ranger has a towing capacity of up to 7,500 pounds when fully equipped. The payload capacity ranges from 1,560 to 1,860 pounds, depending on cab design and bed size.
The 2021 Ranger inspires confidence while off-roading, towing, hauling, or cruising. Whatever your needs, the Ranger lets you get exactly what you want, inside and out. Highway performance and overall road manners are excellent, more befitting a family SUV, but still with that truck power at your fingertips. The truck's various off-roading focused packages or trim levels will come in handy for many drivers. However, even base versions are quite capable in outdoor lots and muddy paths, while still serving as a great first vehicle for someone who prefers driving a truck.
Interior
The interior of the 2021 Ford Ranger is spacious and pleasant, with four seats in the SuperCab and five in the SuperCrew. The cabin is modern and attractive, with high-quality materials used where they are needed without appearing excessive.
The basic infotainment system features a quick response touch screen, a USB port, Bluetooth, four speakers, and a Wi-Fi hot spot, as well as Ford's SYNC 3 software. A 4.2-inch monitor, an 8.0-inch touch screen, GPS, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are just a few of the available infotainment features. Trims and packages can also include features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, and remote start.
Safety Features
Each 2021 Ford Ranger comes standard with a rearview camera, front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and MyKey, which allows secondary drivers to abide by speed and volume limits. Advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic alert with trailer coverage are available as well.
