1. La Michoacana
With one of the most varied menus in town, La Michoacana is sure to satisfy everyone in your family. In addition to serving your usual cones and cups, the establishment is located in the Hispanic quarter of the city, and its menu reflects a storied tradition. Its frescas con crema, a strawberry popsicle-like treat, is a favorite among patrons, as is its mangonada michoacana, a mango smoothie served with spicy chile and lime powder.

2. Cold Truth
Are you or anyone in your family vegan? If so, Cold Truth is the place for you. Here, you’ll find homemade, dairy-free soft serve in flavors as iconic as vanilla sweet cream to ones as unique as blueberry and chocolate swirl. However, its cones and cups aren’t the only things about which Cold Truth’s patrons are raving; if you aren’t in the mood for soft serve, you can still join in on the fun by trying an artisanal ice pop or, a local favorite, watermelon slushie.

3. Huddle Soft Serve
Located within five minutes of the water, Huddle Soft Serve is a great place to visit if you want to take a snack on your evening stroll. Get back to the basics with one of three iconic frozen custard flavors—vanilla, chocolate, and vanilla-chocolate swirl—or try a classic soda float.

4. Water Ice Factory
Traditional custard isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay! For an alternative to conventional soft serve, visit Water Ice Factory. Here, you’ll find water ice, an Italian ice-like dessert, which, in addition to being refreshing and light, is also dairy- and gluten-free. With over twenty-five options, ranging in flavors from rich chocolate or peanut butter to fruity blue raspberry or Georgia peach, you’re sure to find something to help you cool down these sweltering summer months.
Water Ice Factory is open as late as 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Please note that it is closed on Monday.
