The Ford F-250 is built to work and play as hard as you do. The entire lineup, including the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited, is powerful, capable, and built Ford Tough. Read on for our top three reasons to love the 2020 Ford F-250.

Powerful Engines

The Ford F-250 Limited trim is powered by a 475-horsepower 6.7-liter PowerStroke V-8 Turbodiesel capable of producing a whopping 1,050 pound-feet of torque. The V-8 is paired with a TorqShift 10-speed automatic transmission complete with selectable drive modes, such as normal, tow/haul, ECO, and deep sand/snow. The high-powered diesel engine and 10-speed transmission are available options for all other models.

All other trim packages are equipped with a 6.2-liter Flex Fuel V-8 paired with a TorqShift Heavy-Duty six-speed SelectShift-G automatic transmission. A 430-horsepower 7.3-liter V-8 is a third engine option for the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims.

If you use your truck for work, take advantage of Ford’s available Live Drive Power Takeoff. This feature allows you to use auxiliary power from the engine to power a snowplow, compressor, pump, or other similar accessories.

Rear-wheel drive is standard on all trims, with available four-wheel drive. All four-wheel-drive models include an electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case and auto/manual locking wheel hubs.

Incredible Performance

The Ford F-250 can handle anything you throw at it. Properly equipped, the 2020 F-250 has a maximum towing capacity of 20,000 pounds. The standard towing hitch is a 2.5-inch Ford Tough trailer hitch receiver. Optional hitches include a 3-inch Ford Tough receiver, a gooseneck hitch, and a fifth-wheel hitch.

If you use your F-250 to haul a trailer, Ford’s available Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System is a must. This towing system merges the view from four cameras to create a 360-degree view of the area surrounding your truck and trailer. You can hitch up your trailer faster and easier thanks to the dynamic guidelines provided by the rearview camera. The Ultimate System also includes Ford’s Pro-Trailer Backup Assist. With Backup Assist, backing up your trailer is as easy as turning a knob on the dashboard.

If you like to take your F-250 off the beaten path, check out the F-250 Tremor Off-Road Package. This package adds a 2-inch front lift, 35-inch Duratrac tires, upgraded shocks and suspension, a locking rear differential, a limited-slip front differential, low-speed cruise control, and skid plates. The Tremor Package also adds Rock Crawl and Trail Control modes to the automatic transmission. The Tremor package is available on the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims.

Modern Safety Features

The 2020 F-250 is loaded with modern safety features. Standard safety tech includes a rearview camera, automatic high beams, roll stability control, traction control, trailer sway control, and Ford’s SOS Post-Crash Alert System. Features available on high-end F-250s include blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keeping alert, 180/360-degree camera, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and adaptive steering.
