Ford Logo on VehicleThe Ford Bronco has been an icon of American vehicles since its first model year in 1965. Though it took a hiatus in the mid-’90s, the Bronco is back, dressed to impress a new generation. Below are a few of the most famous films that feature a Ford Bronco.

Rampage

“Rampage” is a movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who whips around in a prototype Ford Bronco. When the movie came out, the 2021 Ford Bronco hadn’t been revealed yet, so Ford gave the production a concept version of the Bronco. This movie was released in 2018, three whole years away from the new generation of Ford Broncos. Luckily, Ford had the 2004 concept handy.

Originally, the movie was going to feature a Jeep Wrangler, but Johnson, who is a big fan of Ford models, requested they switch to the Bronco. Though you will likely not be able to take a spin in this model, you can get pretty close to it by jumping behind the wheel of the 2021 Bronco.

No Country for Old Men

The thriller “No Country for Old Men” features a 1979 Ford Bronco. A fun fact about this Bronco is that it’s technically a mistake in the movie’s timeline. The movie is set in 1980, so the 1979 model year makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is that the Bronco featured in the movie sports a grille with the blue Ford oval, which wasn’t made available until 1982. At some point in the last few decades, someone switched the original grille out. Either way, it’s a good-looking truck.

Terminator 2

You can see a tough-looking 1982 Ford Bronco with Arnold Schwarzenegger behind the wheel in the sequel to “Terminator.” With its massive wheels and old-school light bar upgrade, this Bronco looks like the only thing tough enough to be an appropriate ride for the Terminator.

Speed

“Speed” is another top-notch ’90s classic that features an even older Bronco. Keanu Reeves — before he finds himself stuff on a bus that will explode if it stops — is driving a beautifully maintained gray 1970 Ford Bronco. With its dual rooftop lights and iconic round headlamps, this Bronco looks almost as good as Reeves and his costar Sandra Bullock.

Charlie’s Angels

Surprisingly, the only one of these movies that feature the Bronco doing what it’s supposed to do — kick up some serious dust off the pavement — is “Charlie’s Angels.” The 1970 Bronco in this movie gets a lot of screen time. The blue Bronco with the top removed gets to take on some jumps, take on the trails, and even has Bill Murray behind the wheel.
