Basics About the 2021 Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV with three rows that carries up to eight passengers. Many families choose this SUV as their main mode of transport thanks to its great design, driving performance, and technology.

Design

Drivers love the sleek and boxy exterior and well-arranged, comfortable interior of the Expedition. The headroom of the Expedition measures 42.0 inches in the front row, 40.0-inches in the second row, and 37.3 inches in the third row. The foot room measures 43.9 inches in the front row, 42.6 inches in the second row, and 36.1 inches in the third row, providing enough space for passengers in all three rows.

The standard trims provide ample cargo space as well, with 19.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row increasing to a maximum of 104.6 feet with the second row folded. This year’s model also comes with the MAX trim add-on, which extends the length of the Expedition for expanded cargo space. This increases the cargo space to 34.3 cubic feet behind the third row with a maximum of 121.5 cubic feet with the second row folded.

Powertrain

Driving is a pleasant experience with all trims thanks to the turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all models with an optional four-wheel drive upgrade.

Technology

All trims of the Expedition are equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features Wi-Fit hotspot capability and Bluetooth, Apple Carplay, and Android Auto connectivity. Built-in navigation is available on the XLT trim and standard on the Limited, King Reach, and Platinum trims.

The first two rows come equipped with two USB ports for all models, while the Limited, King Reach, and Platinum also have two additional UBS ports on the third row and a wireless charging pad on the front row. All models have a six-speaker audio system and an available 12-speaker premium system upgrade. You can also get screens on the back of the first-row seats with the entertainment system upgrade.
