With its heavy-duty performance features and large size, a pickup truck is not every driver’s first choice. Ford knows that and has designed the Ranger to serve drivers who would enjoy a smaller and more efficient alternative. With three trims to choose from, two cab types, and two bed lengths, the 2021 Ranger is equipped with many available safety features and has excellent performance stats. Read on for more information about the 2021 Ford Ranger.

Customizable Exterior

The 2021 Ford Ranger comes in the XL, XLT, and Lariat trims. Each one is available in a SuperCrew or SuperCab body type and can be customized with a 5-foot or 6-foot bed. With up to nine available exterior colors, including striking options like Cyber Orange, Velocity Blue, and Race Red, you can match the Ranger to your personal style.

For even more style options, consider the STX Appearance Package, which is available on the XL. It equips the Ranger with carbonized black bumpers along with other stylish features. Take it one step further with the STX Special Edition package for privacy glass on the windows and 18-inch black alloy wheels. With many more appearance packages to choose from, including the Black Appearance Package, you can make the Ranger truly yours.

A Powerful and Capable Engine

All 2021 Rangers are powered by a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine is an EcoBoost machine with a twin-scroll turbocharger. It produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet, a best-in-class torque rating. It’s no wonder the Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds with a best-in-class maximum payload capacity of 1,860 pounds. The Ranger’s engine is paired with a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission for smooth shifting. Three overdrive gears are also available. You get the option of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Tremor Off-Road Package

The Tremor Off-Road Package is available on the SuperCrew models of the Ranger and makes this midsize pickup an off-roading champion. This package equips the Ranger with all-terrain tires so you can brave the rugged outdoors. You also get an upgraded suspension with stronger arms at all four corners and an increased ground clearance of 9.7 inches. There’s also a trail management system with four drive modes — Normal, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Sand, and Mud/Ruts.

Interior Technology

Standard infotainment features include the FordPass Connect with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, which has a range of up to 50 feet. With this feature, you can view vital information about your vehicle such as location and fuel levels on your mobile device. The SYNC infotainment system is also standard, along with Sirius XM satellite radio, and Applink.

Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology

Ford makes your safety a priority so you never have to worry when you’re in a 2021 Ranger. The Co-Pilot360 suite equips your vehicle with pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking to prevent collisions with other road users. A rearview camera assists with backing out of tight spots, while curve control helps to control your speed around corners. Trailer sway control and an SOS post-crash alert system also come standard. Available features include a lane-keeping system, automatic high beams, and a reverse-sensing system.
